Home this evening. University computers find time to agree with me, but my brain is tired and my eyes hurt from trying to scramble around websites looking for book prices.

Posting my first substansial entry in a loooong time, but it's a big occasion, I should mark it.

It's only taken me about a decade (possibly more) to get to the point where I'm going to do Law. I signed up to get emailed results between 8am and 9am, but at half seven my alarm woke me and I was too scared to do it. Both because I was scared of going to university and because, if I failed, then I had failed. I'm nervous about going to university but Christ, there's no inch of me that thinks this is wrong, or that I've made some sort of mistake. Apart from my brief daliance with medical school/forensic science ideas, I know this is what I want. And I actually believe I'd be good at it. I know I'll enjoy it and I want to enjoy it. This is the last step before I'm a complete adult, which is weird, but, hot damn. I'm a university student. No more, "I'm only at college/only doing more Highers/I fucked up last year so here I am again." No more, "I hope to go to university and study law." Here I am, a baby lawyer.

As I am currently telling mine Author dans l'AIM, I'm excited about going tomorrow to buy binders and notepads, and a new book bag. It had to be massive. I'll get colourful binders. Idk how many I'll need but I'm going all out.

The course only has 55 places and I am one of them. I glee. I'm just so fucking glad to be doing this, finally.

So in the car to Glasgow today I was reading notes aloud to mother on Common Fisheries Policy in the EU. The Minister for Fishiers (and agriculture and rural development) from 1995 to 2004 was an Austrian gentleman named Franz Fischler, which mother finds hilarious.

Later!
Mother: Did that Fischler guy come up in your exam?
Analyst: No! I was gutted. :(

I realised what I had said as soon as she started laughing and then that was us for the next ten minutes.

In conclusion? If nothing else, my mummy finds me funny.

<blink>
NO MORE
PHILOSOPHY
FOR THE REST
OF MY LIFE.
EVER.
EVER.
</blink>

All in all I think I did well. If I don't get an A I will sue the SQA because I took up a booklet of about sixteen sides of lined paper plus another nine and a half in a second. And I rambled and rambled and RECALLED BOTH THE. FUCKING. ENTIRE. ONTOLOGICAL AND CAUSAL ARGUMENTS FOR DESCARTES. I DID ONTOLOGICAL TWICE. And I quothed ye olde geezers, both Messers Bentham and Mill.

LYSANDER: Remind me on Tuesday evening I have my Modern Studies NABs to be doing please?

BRAT: I remember the CHC!

I'm quite relieved, really. Total studying for this exam was from 9am this morning to 12pm today. Like, in the run up, and not just for NABs. If I get an A I will be laughing all my way into university. It's one of those things like sociology where it all just stuck, theory wise, and all I needed to print in my memory was the strengths and weaknesses.

Et. My hand is broken. But, y'know, I wouldn't be getting cocky about it if I didn't have reason. I guess! I went straight to my teacher and babbled to her and she seems quite pleased with what I was giving to my answers.

Although in previous papers, for moral philosophy, you get an example, say wee Jimmy wants to jump the train, but should he?! Apply Kantian theory or Utilitarianism with a side of Rule. No example given, just: "Discuss the contributions of Bentham and Mill to Utilitarian theory." for 30 marks.

Also managed to put Gallileo's imprisonment into my Descartes essay. And call Mill an elitist. And Bentham naive. And probably implied heavily that A.J. Ayer was a tool, but he is quite cool:

At a party that same year held by fashion designer Fernando Sanchez, Ayer, then 77, confronted Mike Tyson harassing the (then little-known) model Naomi Campbell. When Ayer demanded that Tyson stop, the boxer said: "Do you know who the fuck I am? I'm the heavyweight champion of the world," to which Ayer replied: "And I am the former Wykeham Professor of Logic. We are both pre-eminent in our field. I suggest that we talk about this like rational men".[3] Ayer and Tyson then began to talk, while Naomi Campbell slipped out.

Stole'd from Wikipedia.

And I am going now so I can go and have a nice lovely coffee.

Happy Birthday, Analyst. You can now do the following:

- Vote.
- Purchase alcohol.
- Purchase cigarettes.
- Open up a credit card.
- Open up a store card.
- View adult content on LJ. (Someone link me so I can try it out for the shits and giggles?)
- Get an overdraft.
- Get credit for a car.
- Be classified as an adult on easyjet.com.
- Buy knives?
- Idk, something else?

It's kind of worrying that I can sum that up by saying I can have a legal addiction or debt with the odd, completely useless vote thrown in.

Just. Waking up to this question killed me. Here goes. XD

Since a very young age I have had a Thing about shoes. My second job ever was in a shoe shop and my current job is in a shoe shop. Analyst has many, many shoes. She has no idea how many, but she figures it would take a hell of a long time to count them.

The most-used pair are of course my Coverse Allstars with the strawberry and melons over gingham pattern, in red. Converse have been my choice of shoe for about three, maybe four years now? Iirc I have had a pink pair, a pair I ordered online that I thought were black with a pink tongue but were actually chocolate brown upper and a pink tongue, then my second pink pair and my current. They're getting on in their years but, despite a compulsory layer of dirt to indicate the depth of our relationship, they're doing good.

Second most worn, for this year, which I'll include October 2007 onwards in, as it launched a new era in shoe-wearing for me, would be my flat, below-the-knee high boots. I wore them to college and also to work, because they were comfortable and went great over skinny jeans.

The third would probably be my black knee-highs with stilettos I got in sale in Dolcis, plus my 25% discount. Originally £50/$100 dollars, I got them for £22.00 (maybe some odd pennies in there?)/$44.00. They were popular. They were relatively comfortable. I could wear them over skinnies.

Now, I'll go into the new Era. I only ever wore high heels outside if I was going somewhere, but suddenly I had my Mary Jane patents with the ribbon tie, short, chunky heel. Comfortable heels. I could wear them for a four hour stretch on my feet in work, so I could last a day in the world. I have worn them so many times this year they need to be re-heeled.

I got a pair of black patents with a banana heel and a gold trim around the top of the heel, very 80's, very comfortable when I tried them on. Actually quite painful after half an hour, but reserved for job interview mostly.

My favourite going-somewhere-less-than-casual shoes were a Dolcis bestseller. Black satin peep-toe with a bow on the outside of your foot by the toe. Very sexy shoes, they heralded a transformation. However, the way they were made resulted in a small gap forming at the back of the heel, which made for a poor fit. Going a size down just hurt. I noticed it on a few customers and explained I had the same problem, so I used insoles or gel insoles. I don't use heelgrips, apart from in a pair of shoes that are a size bigger than I need but the size smaller was too small. But. My black satin heels have only had a couple of outings, but they're brilliant. They have about a half inch platform on the sole, concealed, which is a brilliant cheat.

In Dolcis, for the new store, we launched a Dolcis Boutique range, i.e. we're going to charge you more because we say they are better quality. Now, I don't normally 'do' fake crocodile skin, or even non-fake. These were a dark red, purple shade with a black, well-shaped heel and concealed platform. Starting life at £70 iirc. Sale £35. Sale £30. When I bought a pair of more sensible black heels and ended up with two wrong sizes, post-Dolcis being shut down, I had to go to the last remaining one in Scotland. I exchanged them for the crocodile shoes I had coveted so, and my grandmother bought me a pair of going-out shoes because my brother had been bought a Build-a-Bear. These ones were bestsellers. They came in gold, black or silver. Satin. Two part, with a back to the hell and a strap over the toe, ankle fastenings. A kind of star diamante on the toe. A little bit of sneaky sparkle in the heel. £30 RRP to £15.

The braver I've gotten, the higher heels I want. I've topped New Look's limit with a pair of patent peep-toes. I have a pair of shoes on reserve in work with their highest heel. Kurt Geiger charges too much for me to get shoes from there, but I'd like to see heels that size in other shops.

I do love shoes. After breaking my poor little toe, I had to not wear them for a while. So I started craving them. I find that it is true about high heels making you feel more confident. If I had to run into someone who intimidated me, or I hated, I know I would choose to wear high heels for it. Heels and a pencil skirt. I've always been girly, but various levels of insecurity kept me from going out in heels and skirts on a day-to-day basis. But I am eighteen in nine days (homg wtf I'm old.) so, I'm "mature", aren't I? I'ma be a law student. Bring on the high heels and dying in them in Australia because it's so damn warm.

In this month I have purchased one pair of shoes, because I had vouchers to get money off that needed to be used. Wedges with a straw effect around them, platform sole, white canvas slingbacks with a little Mary Jane strap over the foot. I want a pair of brogues in my work and my aunt is getting me them for my birthday, so I just need to get them myself and give her back the money, for which I need my new bank card.

I've been rather well behaved, I would say. But if I ever get lost in a shop, there's a very good chance I'll be re-located at the shoe section.

I should photograph my favourite shoes and update with them for times of HOMG CRISIS!!11!!!1!? when Idk what ones to wear. A catalogue! :D
